A couple of weeks ago, my dear friend and colleague Mary Bourque (from Mary Bourque Photography) and I went to a meeting in Boston. We of course went down early to get some more recent profile images for our recent joint venture (Simply Two Studios). I really don't think it's fair to expect my customers to go through the posing that I have them do without periodically doing it myself. Yes I feel awkward too....did I just say that???? Yes, I feel awkward too! It's out there, posing for pictures is not a natural thing for everyone, it's just not. But it's a process that can be a lot of fun if you allow it to be. I learned a lot that day both about the process and myself. And I had a good time doing it. Do I wish I were thinner? Absolutely....Do I wish I had younger looking skin? Absolutely.....But despite all this, I am glad I did it. Cause now there is a record of me at 38, with my post winter pasty white skin, my excess 30 pounds I have been trying to lose for dare I say 5 years now, with two things I love in this world - a camera and the water nearby. If you are waiting for something to change before you get some images taken - don't. Just get out there and do it. Record those memories, those moments in time - if not for you....do it for those that love you. Thank you Mary! I love them and will treasure these forever.

Some Available Products
From time to time, the professional labs I use, come out with new or different products. I like to have some samples of these so you can see and touch them before you go through your own ordering process. Please let me know if you are interested in seeing any of these in person. I am happy to get them out for you!

The Gravelle Family
Recently I had the pleasure of meeting and working with this lovely family. Unfortunately the circumstances under which I was called to shoot for them are less than desirable. Ashley (the mum) went through treatment for breast cancer 3 years ago. And she now faces a second round of chemo to fight it's return. I believe very strongly in the power of prayer so I am putting this out there so those of you who also believe, can pray for her strength and recovery. She has two small children and a loving husband to help her through her treatment but the more prayers we can say for them, the better. So please, if you feel so inclined, please pray. I feel so blessed to have met them and hope that God will give them strength and comfort through this next phase.
Some Recent Sessions
Been quite busy this year. And now that spring has sprung and the longer days are on their way, people are beginning to book family sessions as well. I must admit, I am pretty excited about this year. 2012 is shaping up to be a good one already. Since I've been so slack with posting sessions, here's a combined post of images from the last few sessions.

I tried!
Ok everyone, if you've followed me for a while you probably already know how I have struggled keeping up my blog for the past year. It's a tough job for me. Some people really like to blog....me...not so much. Don't get me wrong, I love to update people and keep them excited about what's next to come but I find myself continually putting it off. I way prefer to post on facebook....it's just easier for me. So if you find yourself missing the updates over here, it's because I am doing them on my facebook page. And here's the good news....you don't have to be on facebook to keep up with me on facebook. You can access my facebook galleries without actually having a facebook profile for yourself. Business pages are public. So please.......come on over and check things out. I do actually post on there several times a week! And thanks for being such incredible fans. sharna W photography on facebook!

Styled Shoot - Pursuit 31
If you've been following my blog for a while, you know that weddings are not my cup of tea. Don't get me wrong, I love certain things about them....but there is just not enough hours in my days to take on too many a year. But this type of project is right up my alley. I could shoot bridals/groomals all day long. I love the romance of it all, I love to shoot people in love and see the connection between them. And I love to do it without everyone else pulling at the bride and groom for their attention. This is a great way to get wonderful images without it including the stress of the wedding day.
This session was a part of a stylized shoot at a recent workshop I went to. It was for Christian women and was small in numbers. Which of course led to all kinds of wonderful relationships developing. I met some super cool women, all closely connected to God and following their pursuit of Proverbs 31. I learned a lot, got to know some lovely ladies, and got to shoot three awesomely gorgeous couples.
Just loved it......
So incredibly beautiful and soooooooooooooo much fun!
