Senior Session - Miss C

This young lady would be one of the reasons I love my job. What could be better than photographing people this beautiful and gorgeous animals as well. We had a heck of a time getting this scheduled as the weather was giving us a run for our money. We had cloudiness, blazing sunlight and rain that made her images look as though it was snowing. I'm Back!

Well, it was a long tiring journey and I must say I am glad to be home with my husband and all my kids. It was hard, very hard to lay my dad to rest. We were very close and he was a very good man. I miss him terribly. It was, however, very good to be with my mum and reconnect with cousins, aunts and uncles and several high school friends, not to mention people at my dad's funeral I hadn't seen in over 20years. There were many great times, my cousin's wedding for one and several trips to the local beach, along with a day spent with my mentor and his wife and children. Those were all bright sparks in the otherwise monotonous chores of dealing with some one's business related stuff after they die, namely meetings with lawyers, cleaning out the house, banking issues and starting and stopping accounts. Ughh! All very tiring and something I hope not to have to do again. Keep on going mum!!!!!

I am way behind on posting...I have many sessions yet to come. I had the honor of being a second shooter at my cousin's wedding so we have some more bridal images on the way. Along with two family portrait sessions and a few images of the city of Brisbane. Since returning home I've already had two high school senior sessions which were amazing to say the least. So stay tuned for some more posts to come. For now though, here's an image of my girlfriend and her family. We were best friend's in high school and to this day we maintain that closeness whenever we get together, which unfortunately isn't often. Here's just one of little Jorja!

Sad News and Business

It is with a sad heart tonight that I write this. My father died suddenly this past weekend and as expected it has torn my heart apart. He was a larger than life man who cared very deeply for many people. He was an elementary teacher and as such touched the lives of many people. I am heading back to Australia this coming Friday and will return September 29th. Just one tonight. It's gonna be a while before I get their entire gallery ready but I wanted to get one up of the K family. Very close friends of mine, very nice people, and always a pleasure to shoot. Thanks Guys. Can't wait for the little girl to arrive!

Happy Birthday M!

This girl is just a gem. You've probably seen her up here numerous times. I just can't get enough of her. So when she asked me to give her a photo shoot for her 12th birthday of course I said yes. I love her, I love her family and I especially love to do portraits with her. She's a natural in front of the camera and is game for anything. So when I need to try things out she's the first one I call! She's even been my assistant a few times on different shoots. The ultra special thing is that she shares her birthday with my son Peyton. And her younger sister shares her birthday with my oldest daughter Bella. Kind of freaky but we love it. So we get to have double birthdays twice a year. So happy birthday M. I love you!

Senior Session

I've fallen in love with senior sessions this year. I've had a great group of seniors come to me for their images this year and I've really enjoyed every session. Tonight's was no exception. E came with her mum who was equally fun! Thanks guys for such a fun time. Hope you enjoy just a few of the images. Many more to come.....it's gonna be tough!

Favorite Image

So I finally got to speak to Alyssa about posting my favorite image from the wedding. I don't like to just assume that people are OK with just any images of themselves on the blog, especially since this one involves a little more skin, and is obviously an intimate moment getting ready to wed the love of her life. I just love this one. I just can't decide between the color or the black and white. And that's definitely a sign of a favorite for me. I'm usually pretty decisive about color vs black and white. But this time, I just can't pick. So here's both.



And then there's Milk and Honey. I think I love this one even more.
