Meet Flake....................

Woke up this morning with a lot of snow on the ground. Hard to believe two days ago we were running around in the mud as the temps have been so warm. We were starting to think that winter forgot about us. We haven't had snow for a while and what was on the ground was melting away. We have actually been seeing the grass which is normally unheard of in these parts during winter. The snow was heavy and packed well so Peyton and I built a snowman. My first one of this size. We were outside for quite a while, it was actually tolerable for a change. Not so for tomorrow though as I hear rain and then more snow is on the way, along with high winds. Yuck! Changes are coming and so is more snow. Charlotte even made an effort to get off the couch and even dressed herself to come out after she saw Flake from the window. So we would like to introduce you to Flake, such a chunky guy!











But of course we had to pout..........

Last Saturday....

....was a big day. Began with Peyton's hockey game in Saxtons River, Vermont where he scored three goals!!!!! Yeah Bud! Home for lunch and then out to the local ski hill (Arrowhead Rocks!!!!!) for some tubing and snowboarding, although after my fall in January I am yet to get back on....and probably won't! So no images of me, thankfully. We took another brother/sister combo who our kids just love hanging out with. Here are some pics from our recent adventure.

First Big Snow

We were blessed with two snow falls this week. One on Saturday which was only a couple inches and then the one today, which canceled school and pretty much paralyzed the city. I spent three hours shovelling snow only to have the plow come through and create more of a mess for me at the end of the driveway. I had my little buddy out there helping me (mostly anyway). Why oh why does this always happen when Chris is out of town? Ughh! I guess I should be thankful that I have the ability to shovel and that it hasn't as yet knocked our power out like it did this time last year. There are always positives, I may not see them tomorrow morning though when I am trying to pry myself out of bed.

Sick of the Snow

It's the first week in March and while other places are gearing up for spring's arrival, we are still dealing with lots, and I mean lots of snow. We had another snow day yesterday so school was cancelled and we spent some time clearing the driveway. I can't wait for spring. Just a couple of shots of Peyton playing in the snow. They had fun despite the pretty extreme wind chill and snow flying everywhere. I promise some shots of Charlotte are coming (since it is her birthday week!)- am just praying for a little better temps to get her out to shoot. Am tired of puffy winter coats in pictures.

Bella Snow

We have had a lot of snow this year. Last week we had a snow storm that left us with a foot of the powdery stuff. It leaves us with a lot of work to do but it also gives us a lot of opportunity to play. We've been out in it a lot. It gets so high it makes it very difficult for the kids to even move around in it. But nevertheless, they have fun. And wouldn't it be great to have 6 year old skin again, no blemishes, wrinkles or unsightly marks. Such purity!

Ice Storm

We have Power!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow, how miraculous electricity is. I love it! It was a long 60 hours without electricity but we made it. It came on this afternoon while I was out doing a photo shoot. We spent most of this morning at home but went to our friend's house to take baths and hang out while I did my shoot. She was kind enough to cook us a hot meal and let me use her washer and dryer to do some laundry. Poor Peyton was down to his last pair of underwear. Anyway, for now it is over. We have restored energy and things appear to be in working order.

On Friday, I took the older kids out to play in the ice and snow. I also took the camera along to document what has been called the worst ice storm in New England history. While it wasn't incredible amounts of ice in the yard, it was enough to down power lines and create all kinds of issues. We are glad to have our electricity back and to be on the other side of the sub zero temps, at least for now. Here are some images for your viewing pleasure. It really is quite magnificent.
